Chinese military decided to switch to Tesla electric vehiclesFebruary 14, 2020
Chinese military police bought several Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus electric vehicles.
This was reported by Electrek, citing data from the official club of Tesla Taiwan owners (TeslaOwnersTwn). Representatives of the organization spoke about a tender for the purchase of electric vehicles and related equipment worth about $ 100 thousand, which the military conducted.
“Obviously, the police were satisfied with the electric cars, since now they have additionally ordered about 20 Model 3 cars to replenish their fleet. In addition, the military ordered the Wall Connectors portable charging stations to equip stationary points for“ filling up ”electric cars with electric cars,” notes edition.
An attempt by the Taiwanese military to use Tesla electric vehicles for their fleet may set a trend for the use of clean energy among security forces in the future, the newspaper notes.
It is worth noting that last year the police in Dubai decided to renew their fleet and next year they will patrol the tourist areas on Tesla Cybertruck electric vehicles. At the same time, Tesla plans to start production of cars at the end of 2021, so it is still unknown how the Dubai police want to have time to update the fleet before next year.
