They showed a novelty at a military parade in the China. The car is made by the premium brand Hongqi and received the name L9.
The long-awaited debut of the new presidential limousine has taken place in China. Previously, the president was driving a Hongqi HQE with a frame body. New Hongqi L9 has a supporting body. If we compare the updated limousine with its predecessor, then it has undergone significant changes both in terms of exterior and interior. The car boasts an increased wheelbase, as well as a larger glazing area. The striking design of the windshield and lower thresholds are also striking. However, the car retained its overall styling. The machine is equipped with the same 9-spoke wheels.
Also unchanged were the sunroof, armored body and rear doors that open against traffic.
According to reliable sources, the new limousine borrowed the engine from its predecessor – it became a 6.0-liter V12 engine with a return of 480 horsepower. The interior of the car is similar to the “little brother” – the L5 car. It features a digital dashboard and touch screen for controlling various systems. Hongqi L9 president will use for events and domestic trips. For trips abroad, the Chinese leader uses the Hongqi N501, official data on which are not available.
