Chevy is testing the most powerful version of the new Corvette C8January 23, 2020
The team of engineers of the American brand conducted a series of high-speed tests of the Corvette C8 sports coupe in the powerful Z06. The presentation of the car may take place this summer.
Just when we thought that the news about the mid-engined sports Corvette should be quiet for a while, new information arrived. A user of the social network Facebook posted a photo showing how the team of engineers of the American brand is testing the most powerful performance of the iconic American car. It’s about the version of Z06, which is intended for use on the racetrack. The prototype of the novelty was disguised quite strongly.
It is also worth noting that not so long ago, a “spy” video appeared, in which the prototype Corvette C8 Z06 had an exhaust sound that was completely different from that of the 6.2-liter V8, which is under the hood of regular versions of the new Corvette C8. Thus, we can assume that Chevrolet may equip the new Z06 with a more powerful engine.
But back to the photos posted on the social network Facebook. The car stands next to the German Porsche 911 coupe in the high-performance version of the GT2 RS, which is also intended for use on the racetrack. The car can completely drive the Nurburgring in 6 minutes 47 seconds. Under its hood is 700 horsepower, which is sent to the rear wheels.
Our foreign colleagues report that Chevy specialists are testing their competitor to the German GT2 RS. There is no data on when the presentation of the new Z06 will take place. According to rumors, the production version of the car may be presented this summer.
