Chevy introduced the teaser for the 2021 Corvette sports coupeJuly 7, 2020
The press service of the American brand published a video teaser, which is dedicated to the Corvette 2021 coupe model year. In the video, the car is captured in several colors.
We are quickly approaching the first anniversary of the appearance of the C8 generation Chevy Corvette sports coupe – the car was shown on July 18 last year. Now, less than two weeks before this date, a short 14-second teaser video has appeared on the Chevy Corvette official Facebook page, alluding to the Corvette 2021 model year.
The post says, “It’s time to get some new racing lanes,” while a short video says that “Chevy pays tribute to its history.”
However, we have no idea what exactly this means. A teaser showcases Corvette with colored stripes that extend over the entire width of the video frame. The screen also shows four pictures of the “striped” Corvette. Two black ones, one with a pair of red stripes and the other with yellow stripes. There is a blue-white, another imitating the cult blue-orange livery of the American brand.
We expect that sooner or later, Chevy will add higher-performance versions of the Corvette, such as the Z06. The latter should get a 5.5-liter V8. We do not expect that this version of the model will appear before the 2022 model year (2021 actual), but we do not think that this teaser is hinting at just such a performance of the model. Instead, we could argue that Chevy plans to introduce a new “package” of appearance or even “packages” that will help improve the look of the sports coupe. It may be similar to the Competition Sport “package” introduced for the 2009 Corvette C6.
Not so long ago, our publication wrote that look at the restoration process of the Chevy Corvette C2 forgotten in the garage. A copy of the 1967 Chevy Corvette sports coupe was found in the garage. The car stood in the garage for the last 33 years. The video captures the process of cleaning a car from perennial dirt.
