Chevy Corvette C8 more powerful Z06 spotted in benchmarksSeptember 20, 2020
The American brand is testing the C8 generation Chevy Corvette sports coupe in the most powerful version of the Z06. A test prototype of the novelty was spotted high in the mountains of Colorado (USA). Chevy will unveil the new Z06 by the end of this year or early next year.
Already in February of this year, the first prototype of the Corvette Z06 with a mid-engined engine was spotted. It has been a long time since then and now we know some details about a very powerful version of the iconic sports coupe.
This time, another alleged prototype Z06 has been spotted on trials in Colorado, USA. The video, titled C8 Corvette Owners (and Friends), was posted on Facebook.
The post on the social network was accompanied by a caption that read: “Here is the second prototype of the C8 Vette that we saw this morning. I believe it stood and waited for the computer or diagnostic system to reboot before starting to move again. But we heard a terrible sound It’s likely a ZR / Z06 or a Grand Sport because base coupes are likely to have dual exhaust. “
Interestingly, the Z06 prototype comes with center tailpipes, which sound great from what we heard in the video.
The upcoming Z06 is expected to be powered by a 5.5-liter flat-crank V8 engine with twin overhead camshafts.
Aside from the powerful engine, the new Corvette Z06 will reportedly come with three different wing options, including an active aerodynamic feature that includes side flaps. Another interesting feature of the novelty will be the red zone of the V8 engine with a flat crank – 9,000 rpm.
Chevy will unveil the Z06 by the end of this or early next year.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that the Chevy Corvette C8 received an aggressive exhaust sound. Fabspeed offers the owners of the Chevy C8 Corvette sports coupe a variety of exhaust system options with various catalytic converters. The car featured in this video has a very low, brutal exhaust sound.
