Chevy Camaro owners can order lights from the Chevy Corvette C8February 15, 2021
One American tuning company is proposing to swap the standard Chevy Camaro taillights for those commonly found on the other sports car of the brand, the Corvette C8. These lights will only fit the 2014-2015 Chevy Camaro.
The unique Chevy Corvette C8 styling taillights are only available on the fifth generation Camaro models that were released between the 2014 and 2015 model years. Chevy changed its coupe slightly for the 2014 model year, updating the front and rear fascia, which required a change in lighting elements. The new one-piece design was a bit “soft” compared to the 2013 version of the taillights. The new Corvette-style headlights do add some light in the rear, faithfully mimicking the swoosh-styled Corvette C8 look.
A video posted on the Savage Camaro YouTube channel details the installation of the new lights.
To remove old lighting fixtures, you need to remove the rear bumper and the plastic trim for the taillights from the inside. The new units are simple plug-and-play components that simplify the installation process. The entire process of installing new lights can be done alone, although the rear bumper can be problematic and may require a second pair of hands. According to the video, it took about an hour to install the new taillights.
The end result is the impression that the rear lights of the Corvette C8 were designed specifically for its big brother. Unfortunately, they are only available on Camaros that were released between 2014 and 2015.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that the 2022 Chevy Camaro will be similar to the Chevy Corvette C8. The iconic 2022 Chevy Camaro will soon be available in the same hue offered for the new Chevy Corvette C8. The company believes the move will help improve Chevy Camaro sales.
