Chevrolet Silverado will receive a multifunctional rear door Multi-FlexSeptember 17, 2020
The debut of the full-size Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with a multifunction tailgate is confirmed for 2021. The brand has shown in a video the capabilities of the new door, which will receive the Multi-Flex designation. There is no pricing data yet for this new option.
The automaker has confirmed that the facelifted Silverado will receive a Multi-Flex tailgate – not to be confused with a similar MultiPro tailgate found on a similar GMC Sierra pickup. It will be available on the 2021 truck version of the model year, but full details on the multifunction tailgate are not yet available. Chevrolet is currently inviting us to take a look at a video showing transition sections of various tailgate configurations. The full presentation of the new Multi-Flex will take place on September 21st.
Based on what we see in the short video, the tailgate looks like an exact replica of the same door on the GMC pickup.
The MultiPro’s tailgate has six opening options, which includes everything from steps to shelves and an extension with a hinged lid to help keep the load secure when the door is swung open. The name of this tailgate varies between brands from the GM concern, which includes both Chevrolet (Multi-Flex) and GMC (MultiPro).
Perhaps the bigger questions are, how much will the optional tailgate cost for the refreshed Silverado? In the case of the GMC Sierra pickup, the MultiPro tailgate is standard only on more expensive trim levels like the SLT and Denali.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that the SVE studio modernized the Chevrolet Silverado pickup. Specialists of the SVE studio have developed their own project based on the Chevrolet Silverado. He received the name SVE Yenko Silverado.
