Chevrolet Silverado HD pickup truck gets updatesOctober 8, 2020
The Chevrolet Silverado HD has received improvements for the 2021 model year.
The Silverado 3500 HD with rear-wheel drive configuration, the standard cab can now tow a trailer weighing 16,329 kilograms. Recall that this car is equipped with a 6.6-liter Duramax diesel engine, along with which a 10-speed Allison transmission functions. For the sake of comparison, the current Ford F-350 with a 6.7-liter V8 diesel engine is capable of carrying 16,057 kg. In turn, the towing capacity of the Ford F-450 is 16.783 kg, the Ram 3500 – 15 921 kg.
Chevrolet says it has been able to improve the Silverado HD’s towing capacity by upgrading the suspension and installing new wheels. In addition, the pickup has a Cargo Bed View system, which facilitates the process of hitching trailers with hitches, a rear view camera, Trailer-Angle Indicator function, which shows the angular relationship of the truck and trailer to each other, and other systems.
The Silverado HD family, in particular, has been expanded with new special editions such as the Carhartt Special Edition, Midnight Edition, Z71 Sport Edition and Z71 Chrome Sport Edition.
Production of the updated Chevrolet Silverado HD has already started, and dealers will have it before the end of this year.
In addition, it was recently noted that the American corporation Ford talked about what to expect from the hybrid version of the F-150 pickup 2021. Along with this, the press center of the company shared a video showing the stages of testing the hybrid version of the model.
