Chevrolet showed updated Tahoe and SuburbanDecember 11, 2019
The new generation of SUVs was presented on a grand scale at Little Caesars Arena, located in Detroit, Michigan.
Chevrolet’s iconic Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevrolet Suburban SUVs have been seriously updated. The models of the next generation received a changed appearance and became similar to the current cars of the brand. The automaker also worked on the technical stuffing of its iconic SUV. So, it is known that Tahoe and Suburban of the 2020 model year are based on the T1 platform from General Motors. The same “cart” will receive a new generation of Cadillac Escalade and GMC Yukon. The platform allows the use of highly automated auto control technologies, which includes a full-fledged “autopilot”. In addition, the new architecture is able to work with a rich list of active security systems.
Another improvement that experts call the most notable is the new multi-link independent rear suspension. With its help, large Chevrolet SUVs will demonstrate better handling and excellent ride comfort for their size.
The motor range of new products included a 5.3-liter V8 and a 6.2-liter V8 with 335 and 420 horsepower respectively. Both engines thanks to technology of dynamic shutdown of cylinders are able to save fuel. Also, Tahoe and Suburban have now acquired a three-liter six-cylinder Duramax turbodiesel with a return of 277 hp.
The top versions of SUVs rely on adaptive air suspension with adjustable clearance. Inside the car there was a place for a modified front panel with a 10-inch central touchscreen, a digital dashboard, a new “climate” control unit and a stylish steering wheel.
