Chevrolet plans to launch “heavy” SuburbanOctober 31, 2020
The full-size American SUV Chevrolet Suburban recently received an extreme modification of the Z71, and the next version is likely to be a “heavy” HD with a reinforced frame.
Especially for those who regularly use their SUV to tow heavy trailers or transport goods, Chevrolet plans to release the current generation of “heavy” Suburban. According to the publication GM Authority, General Motors vice president of global products Tim Herrick spoke about it. According to the tradition of the concern, such an SUV will receive the HD designation. Similar to its sister pickup, the Silverado, the Heady Duty version will obviously feature a reinforced frame and redesigned suspension to accommodate the increased payload and traction.
In addition, the “heavy” Suburban HD should receive a new engine. The SUV of the previous generation was equipped with a gasoline 6.0-liter V8 with 365 horsepower. The power plant for the new model will most likely be borrowed from the Silverado HD pickup: it is equipped with a diesel 6.6-liter V8 Duramax engine with 451 horsepower and 1234 Newton meters of torque. Another option could be a petrol 6.6-liter V8 with 406 horsepower. The premiere of the “heavy” version of the Suburban HD should take place in 2021.
