Official images of the new sedan of American brand appeared on the Web. It is expected that the model will be offered with two motors.

Last week, Chevrolet announced a new product for which they revived the name Monza: in the 70s-80s of the last century, a three-door hatchback, a coupe and a wagon were produced under that name, and a sedan in the 90s (by the way, the Monza was in the Opel line). The new model has not yet been officially presented, the brand has distributed only one teaser, and it is impossible to determine from the picture which body the revived Monza has. The public premiere of the car will take place on November 16 at the Guangzhou Auto Show.

However, the intrigue could not be preserved: in the base of the Ministry of Industry of the Middle Kingdom, there appeared photos of the new Chevrolet in full growth – under the name of Monza, the Chinese will be offered a sedan. The car has two versions – standard and sporty RS. The second is distinguished by a grille and more aggressive bumpers.

Certain characteristics of the new Monza are also included in the certification body The length of the “four-door” is 4614 mm, wheelbase – 2640 mm. That is, in terms of its size, the Monza fits between the Cruze sedans (4666 and 2700 mm respectively) and the Cavalier (4544 and 2600 mm). By the way, the last model also got the name from the vaults of the concern General Motors – Cavalier cars were produced from 1981 to 2005, and the current sedan debuted in 2016.

The new Monza will be available with two petrol turbo engines familiar from other models in the Chinese GM line: 1.0 with 116 hp. and 1.3, delivering 156 hp Information about the boxes yet.

For Chinese production, Chevrolet Monza will be established at the local plant of the joint venture General Motors and SAIC. In the sale of new, probably, will go to the end of this year. In the lineup, the sedan is sure to occupy a niche between the already mentioned Cavalier and Cruze. The first sedan in China today costs from 79,900 yuan, the second will cost at least 109,900 yuan

The appearance of Monza outside the “heavenly” market is still in question. Meanwhile, Cavalier was also originally declared as an “exclusive” model for China, but last year they also started selling this sedan in Mexico. Although neither Monza nor the Chevalier will get to Russia anyway, Chevrolet decided to sell more expensive cars from us.

At the Guangzhou Auto Show, the Chevrolet brand will introduce another new product – the FNR-CarryAll crossover. Under this designation is the Chinese version of the Blazer SUV (and again the name from the past). Chevrolet plans to bring an SUV to the Russian market are also unavailable.
