Chevrolet is ready to conquer the car marketAugust 29, 2019
The American concern General Motors and the Chinese auto giant SAIC have prepared for the launch of the new Baojun RM-5 off-road minivan. Over time, this car will be produced under the Chevrolet brand.
The Baojun RM-5 minivan with great off-road potential has recently been officially presented to Chinese media and dealers. The serial car is based on the same platform as the flagship crossover Baojun RS-5. The length of the novelty slightly exceeds 4.7 meters, width – 1 806 mm, height – 1 625 mm, wheelbase – 2 750 mm. Appearance of the seven-seater Baojun RM-5 is made in a recognizable corporate style of the brand, which was supplemented by “off-road” attributes: overall wheel arch extensions, increased ground clearance and an off-road plastic body kit around the entire perimeter of the body.
The new cross-section is driven by a one and a half liter 147-horsepower turbo engine, combined with a manual transmission or CVT. But the four-wheel drive RM-5 is not put.
The manufacturer introduced optics on LED-matrices, adaptive cruise control, a virtual dashboard, a panoramic sunroof, a course stability system and much more to the list of available options, which makes driving a car as comfortable and safe as possible. In China, the novelty will appear this fall, but the “copy” under the Chevrolet brand will have to wait until 2020.
