Chevrolet has started tests of the updated crossover TraxAugust 15, 2018
We want to note that in fact, the subcompact American crossover Chevrolet Trax received an update only last year. And despite this, the guys from the company Chevrolet have already begun to test the new performance of the car. It is reported that the so-called “spy” images of the car were made on the testing grounds of the brand, which are located north-west of Detroit (USA).
These pictures allow you to take a look at the new version of the crossover for the first time!
Note that on the prototype of the car seen is a fairly dense layer of camouflage film, but despite this new Chevrolet Trax, which in some automobile markets is known as the Tracker, it seems to be slightly larger than the current car performance. Our friends-insiders say this, according to them, the next version of Trax will be built on the platform VSS-S and slightly increase in size. There are also rumors that the car can use the advanced platform Gamma-2, which is based on the current version of Trax.
Despite attempts to hide the updated appearance of the crossover, we can see that the new Trax will be very similar to another representative of Chevrolet – it’s about the crossover Blazer. When you look at the car from the side, you can see that the rear window and the C-pillar are very much like the new version of Blazer.
According to preliminary data, under the hood of the new Chevrolet Trax / Tracker will be the same 1.4-liter turbocharged engine, which is likely to be slightly upgraded – to increase its power. It can work with a 9-speed “automatic” or a 6-speed transmission.
Since this was the first look at the test prototype of the American novelty, we do not expect to see a fully commercial version of the model before the end of 2019.
