Chevrolet Colorado with a sports bias prepared for the AustraliansNovember 9, 2018
Presented sport pickup from factory atelier brand Holden
The factory atelier of the Australian brand Holden – HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) – presented a limited version of the Colorado pickup truck, called the Sportscat R. This is a variant of the Chevrolet mid-size pickup of the same name, but in the version for the Australian market.
Pickup is offered exclusively in black. Most of the differences from the usual production model are cosmetic: a mesh grille, a bumper with a black lacquer insert at the bottom, an arc behind the cab, a noticeable hump on the hood and bright red accents throughout the body.
In addition, sports seats with combined leather and suede upholstery and a steering wheel with red stitching are installed in the cabin. 18-inch wheels – forged, with off-road tires Cooper Zeon LTZ Pro Sports. Chassis supplemented brakes AP Racing. Under the hood – a 200-hp diesel Duramax 2.8 paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Pickup will release a small batch of 100 copies.
Chevrolet Colorado pickup is assembled at two factories in Thailand and the United States. Under this name, two related models are produced, differing in power units and appearance. On the same basis, the Chevrolet TrailBlazer SUV was created, which was sold in Russia for several years. In addition, the Isuzu D-Max pickup with the same chassis and cab, but a different set of engines, is manufactured at a factory in Thailand.
The division of Holden Special Vehicles throughout its 30-year history has been engaged in the creation of “charged” versions of large Holden Commodore sedans. But in 2017, Holden ceased production of the Commodore model and closed its plant in Australia. As a result, HSV had to switch to refine pickups.
