Chevrolet Bolt electrohatch with a new battery significantly increased power reserveAugust 24, 2019
The increase in “range” of the car affected the time of its full “charge”. But the cost of new items will approach the price tag for the current Chevrolet Bolt.
Chevrolet showed the Bolt EV electric hatchback with a new battery that allows this electric car to travel longer distances on a single charge. The difference with the previous figure is 34 kilometers. Now the Chevrolet Bolt EV relies on a 66 kW / h battery, which is 6 kW / h more than the previous one. The power reserve increased from 383 to 416.8 km. The cells in the battery, as before, are 288, but the mass increased by half a kilogram – up to 430 kg. Electric motor power, in turn, is 200 horsepower.
With a new battery of increased capacity, the time for fully charging Bolt has changed: to replenish the energy reserve of the electric car to 100%, it will take about ten hours instead of the previous 9.5. By the way, in just half an hour, the Chevrolet Bolt EV 2020 can be “recharged” at a distance of up to 90 miles (about 144 kilometers).
The novelty will reach dealers this year. The base price tag for such a Bolt, according to experts, will be $ 37,495. Almost the same today you have to pay for the current version of the electric car.
