Chevrolet began testing the right-hand drive version of the Chevrolet CorvetteAugust 31, 2020
Such a vehicle will be available in the markets of Japan, Australia and the UK. It is on this modification that GM is now relying on.
American concern General Motors spoke about the right-hand drive version of the Chevrolet Corvette supercar. According to Chief Engineer Tag Yuechter and Manager Harlan Charles, such vehicles should be in high demand. On Monday, August 31st, it became known that several prototypes have already been built for test trials.
Moreover, the tests are already passing and there are first impressions. According to the chief engineer of the project, it is very unusual to drive a Corvette with a right-hand drive, but this version will allow residents of other countries to fully enjoy the car. It is noteworthy that road tests are taking place in the USA, where left-hand drive is traditional. The first batch of RHD Corvette C8s has already been sold in the Japanese market – with all cars sold out in 2.5 days.
Further, the supercar will appear on the Australian and British car markets, but this will not happen until 2021 or at the very beginning of 2022.
Earlier it became known that the racing modification of the Chevrolet Corvette with the Z06 index will be offered with three different versions of the rear wing. Such cars will have different downforce. The appearance of the car should be expected only in 2021.
