Chery Tiggo 8 release less than a year, and are already preparing an updateJanuary 29, 2019
In February 2018, Chery presented its new flagship crossover Tiggo 8. Not even a year had passed since the presentation, the Chinese company is preparing an updated version of the car, although its tests have not been completed yet, although they are at the final stage.
Pictures of the upgraded model flowed into free access through the base of the Ministry of Industry of China. A promising version of the car of the current sample from the outside is distinguished by a grille of a new form, air intakes of a modified configuration in the front bumper, new daytime running lights, narrower exhaust pipes.
There is also a photo of the cabin of the modernized car – it was made by an unknown “paparazzi”. Judging by the picture, the car will be equipped with a digital dashboard, as well as an automatic selector extended upwards. The seats and armrest are trimmed with leather, but the other elements of the cabin are not yet visible – they are covered with camouflage fabric.
Unlike the current Tiggo 8, which is equipped with a turbocharged Quartet with a power of 150 hp, the new version will be equipped with a 1.6-liter Chery SQRF4J16 engine, whose power is 197 hp. The engine will work together with a 7-speed robotized transmission with two clutches. With this combination, the Tiggo 8 will consume 7.4 liters of gasoline per 100 km on the combined cycle.
It is expected that the updated Tiggo 8 will present in the Chinese market in the second quarter of this year. The current version is now priced at 98,800 yuan.
