Chery revealed the design of the flagship crossover Exeed VXNovember 15, 2019
The Chinese automaker has published official images of its new Exeed VX crossover, which is scheduled to be presented in Guangzhou.
Recall that the premium sub-brand of Chery brand – Exeed – entered the local market at the end of 2018. Now the model line of the brand consists of two SUVs – TX and LX. However, in the near future, the situation will change and the third model, the flagship VX, will enter the home market.
Now Chery has distributed only a couple of sketches of the news, at the same time announcing the date and place of its premiere: the car will be shown on November 22 at the Guangzhou Motor Show. Exeed VX will be shown in the status of the concept, but the production model is practically no different from it, except that the product version has ordinary door handles instead of “hidden” ones. We know about this, thanks to the Chinese Ministry of Industry, which in September published “live” photos and the main characteristics of the model. In addition, not so long ago, local media outlets disseminated spy shots of the interior of the cross.
The dimensions of the Chinese news are comparable to the seven-seat Volkswagen Teramont and are 4970 mm long, and the wheelbase is 2900 mm. The interior repeats the Exeed LX interior: the front panel is almost the same here, the screen of the multimedia complex is combined with a virtual instrument panel, the third display is located on the center console, which has a pair of washers, just like in the Jaguar Land Rover. Exeed VX will be offered with a seven-seater saloon, while the remaining crossovers of the brand have a five-seater version.
The engine range will also be borrowed from younger models – it is represented by the non-alternative gasoline engine 1.6 TGDI of the third generation Acteco family. Its return is 197 hp. and 290 Nm, it is paired with a Getrag 7-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches.
Exeed VX is likely to appear in China next year. Prices will be announced closer to the start of sales.
