Chery is preparing a “revised” version of the concept Jetour X for display in ShanghaiApril 9, 2019
The subsidiary brand of the Chinese concern continues to grow, but less intensively than experts expected. So far the brand has only two models in its asset, but soon another crossover may appear.
According to experts, the Jetour brand in January was exactly one year since its inception. The company is a subsidiary of the Chinese company Chery, and is designed for the production of modern technological models for a young target audience. Currently, the brand has two models of the Jetour X70 and X90 crossovers, but sales for the Chinese market are quite modest – 29,061 vehicles in the first three months of the year.
Back in 2018, the Jetour X concept was introduced as part of the Beijing Auto Show. But at that time it received a lot of criticism because of its design. Therefore, the company decided to prepare for April 16 (opening of the Shanghai auto show) a corrected version with a more serial exterior, created on the basis of a study of the modern market and the wishes of potential customers.
In addition to the updated exterior design (major changes occurred at the stern) Jetour X now boasts an interior. Judging by the description and teasers, the concept is completely deprived of physical buttons, and will receive two large displays as a dashboard and the main body for controlling systems.
When may appear the serial version of the concept is not reported. It is known that there are seven models in the Jetour roadmap.
