Charged VW Jetta GLI will present at the auto show in ChicagoDecember 11, 2018
A high-performance version of the German sedan should be shown to the public in February next year. In its power level, the novelty will be close to the “charged” Golf GTI.
We are talking about the new Jetta GLI for over a year, and “spy” shots of a “charged” sedan first appeared on the Internet in November 2017. Honda Civic Si and Hyundai Elantra Sport, which in essence will become the main competitors of the German novelty, will be presented in January 2019 at the motor show in Detroit (USA). Well, the presentation of the VW Jetta GLI, we apparently have to wait a little longer.
Our colleagues from the foreign edition of Autoblog learned from the official VW representative that the updated Jetta GLI will be presented at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show.
Thus, it is safe to say that we will see the serial version of the long-awaited novelty on February 7 – this very day the auto show will open to the press. Maybe a couple of days before that, an online car show could take place.
In fact, there are not so many secrets left with regard to what the VW Jetta GLI 2020 model year will look like. Not so long ago, in Argentina, a prototype of a novelty was seen, on which practically there was no camouflage film.
It is already known that the Jetta GLI will offer true sporting qualities thanks to an independent rear suspension. Under the hood will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, inherited from the Golf GTI hot hatchback. It is expected that in the high-performance version of the compact sedan, its power will be at 220 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque.
