Charged Hyundai Elantra Sport has retained a 204-strong engine after restylingOctober 29, 2018
Standard refreshed C-class sedan Hyundai entered the Korean market in September this year. Recall that in the homeland the model is sold under the name Avante, in other countries it is known as the Elantra.
Sedan acquired other bumpers and grille, triangular headlights and foglights, other lights. In the cabin – the new steering wheel, front panel and air vents, upgraded dashboard. In Korea, the model still has a “hot” version with the Sport prefix, the company has not yet officially presented the updated sports version. However, we already know what the restyled “charged” sedan looks like – its photo was published by the local edition of AutoTimes.
Externally, the sports version of the Avante / Elantra is distinguished by a grid pattern (“honeycomb” instead of horizontal stripes), rectangular “slots” appeared on the chrome-plate connecting headlights, and an enlarged spoiler on the trunk lid. In addition, for the Avante Sport provides wheels exclusive design. Inside the Avante Sport-2019, other seats and a “truncated” steering wheel were installed, and there is a red stitching on the steering wheel and gearshift cover.
The engine, according to preliminary data, is the same: in Korea, the sports version will be offered with a 1.6 T-GDI turbo-four with a capacity of 204 hp, which is still combined with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed robotized transmission with two clutches. This engine is in the arsenal and other models of Hyundai-Kia – for example, the latest hatchback and sedan Kia K3 GT (in other countries – Forte or Cerato). Like the rest of the “charged” models of the concern, Hyundai Avante Sport has reconfigured the suspension.
The usual Hyundai sedan on the home market is presented with an “aspirated” 1.6 (123 hp) new Smart Stream family (this engine debuted at Kia K3), a 1.6 e-VGT turbo diesel engine (136 hp) and a 1.6 LPi engine (120 hp), working on liquefied gas. All versions are equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, the engine is still equipped with a variator, the gas variant has a six-speed automatic, and the diesel engine is the same robotized transmission as the 1.6 T-GDI.
