Changan unveiled a new crossover Uni-TMarch 8, 2020
The novelty was supposed to debut earlier at the Geneva Motor Show, but due to the cancellation of the showroom, the presentation date was postponed to a later date.
Changan officially unveiled its new Uni-T crossover. The name of the SUV, which is now called the most stylish in the lineup of the Chinese brand, stands for “unique technology.” It is known that under this name over time there will be a whole line of cars, which, in addition to the traditional SUV, will include four to five more cars. Based on Changan Uni-T on a new platform. Its length reaches 4,515 mm with a wheelbase of 2,710 mm.
For the cross-country’s performance, a one and a half liter 180-horsepower Blue Core NE engine meets the seven-speed “robot” with two clutches.
Initially, it was reported that the serial crossover looks similar to its prototype, shown back in January. In fact, there are changes: the radiator grill received LED elements, and the side air vents were decorated with red inserts. In the car interior, all the main electronics are arranged as conveniently as possible for the driver: this is the head display, the climate control unit, etc. A special area for the passenger has appeared on the central tunnel. And the unusual electronic selector KP reminds that when working on the Uni-T interior, designers were looking for fresh ideas in the cockpit of the liner.
Also, the novelty relies on an AI chip that can guess the car owner’s wishes in advance. For example, he is able to determine the degree of driver fatigue by the frequency of yawning and blinking. Other useful options include all-round cameras, an air purification system, and much more. The price lists for the new product are kept secret.
