Cars of the protagonist of the film “Back to the Future” are sold at auctionApril 29, 2020
The Bring a Trailer auctioned off the DeLorean DMC-12 coupe and Toyota Xtra Cab SR5 pickup. Marty McFly moved on these cars in the legendary trilogy “Back to the Future”.
DeLorean DMC-12 1981 production year is preserved in its original condition without fake elements for time travel. He was in the garage for 25 years, and in his entire life he drove 4,329 miles (6,967 km) and therefore looks like a new car. DeLorean received a 132-horsepower V6 power unit with a volume of 2.85 liters and a 5-speed manual transmission.
On the Toyota odometer of the 1985 production year, 129,877 miles (209,017 km) are listed, but it looks no worse than the Delorian – the Xtra Cab was restored in 2015. The pickup truck repeats in detail the instance filmed in the movie, due to the kenguryatnik, steel arcs in the back and additional headlights in yellow covers. Toyota is equipped with a 114-horsepower naturally aspirated engine of 2.4 liters and a 5-speed manual transmission.
DeLorean comes with a skateboard, sneakers with lacing, a cap and other artifacts, such as the “newspaper of the future” of 2015. And when buying a pickup, the new owner also gets a Marty McFly driver’s license, a 1980s skate, the same sneakers and an old video camera.
The end of the auction is scheduled for April 30. At the time of publication, the current bid for DeLorean DMC-12 is 32 thousand dollars, and for Toyota Xtra Cab SR5 – 35 thousand dollars
