Cars of residents of Sweden help local public utilities to fight with iceFebruary 3, 2019
To bring the roadway in the normal state, experts are guided by data from private cars. It is known that such information is already shared by 900 cars with employees of the local transport department.
In Sweden, transport workers brought the fight against ice on the roads to a new level. To organize this process as efficiently as possible, they began to use the information gathered by the “electronics” of private cars when planning work.
Experts are interested in data from the system of stabilization of exchange rate stability, as well as the braking system. All information enters the transport administration completely anonymously.
According to the SVT channel, currently about 900 vehicles are helping the transport authorities. The new program is working in pilot mode, but now there is a positive trend. Thus, the number of observation points increased from one hundred to one million! Such comprehensive monitoring helps road builders to quickly eliminate ice, sending special equipment to the place where it is needed most.
