Now the top manager is in a Japanese prison
Lawyers of the former head of Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi, Carlos Ghosn, posted a video message from a top manager to the Network, which he recorded, fearing arrest. In it, Ghosn called the accusations against him a conspiracy, pointing out that he was behind the top management of Nissan.
Carlos Ghosn was arrested again a day after he announced the convening of a press conference on April 11, at which he promised to “tell the whole truth” about what was happening. He was charged with spending millions of dollars belonging to Nissan Motor Co. According to the prosecutor’s office of Japan, Ghosn took out funds from the company through intermediaries and spent them on his own needs. Including private flights, yachts, as well as investments in a startup son.
A month earlier, the court allowed Ghosn to be released on bail of billion yen. During the internal investigation initiated by the leadership of Nissan, it turned out that the head of the board paid for the purchase and repair of real estate at the company’s expense: he spent several billion yen on houses in Rio de Janeiro, Beirut, Paris and Amsterdam.
Carlos Ghosn was removed from his posts in Nissan and Mitsubishi. From Renault top manager left himself, asking for resignation, while in custody. Nissan later sued Claudine Bishara de Oliveira, the elder sister of Carlos Ghosn. She was accused of “illegal enrichment.”
