The official start of sales of the updated crossover in the Chinese car market will be held on September 5. In the meantime, dealers of the brand in the China receive the first commercial copies of the SUV.
It was possible to capture a restyled cross from one such batch at the Lexus dealership in China. Pictures were shared by Autohome. Lexus RX is considered the most popular model at Lexus, because the brand management decided not to redraw the appearance of its crossover, slightly refreshing the design that worked perfectly. So, the manufacturer slightly adjusted the front end and made the stern of the car less round. But the equipment RX has undergone a major upgrade. Inside the car, advanced multimedia now flaunts with a huge 12.3-inch touchscreen, with which you can control individual functions of the car with a smartphone.
Such a “grown up” multimedia screen can be found only with “older” trim levels. In the “base” cross gets an 8-inch touchscreen.
After restyling, the Lexus RX is by default equipped with a proprietary set of security systems. It includes, for example, a lane monitoring system, a driver’s assistant responsible for detecting pedestrians and cyclists, etc. The manufacturer also reconfigured the SUV suspension.
The updated Lexus RX drives either a 3.5-liter V6 with a power of 294 hp, or a two-liter 238-horsepower turbo engine. Not without the popular hybrid today: its power reaches the mark of 313 hp. The eight-speed hydromechanical automatic transmission was chosen for the role of transmission. Prices for the novelty are kept secret.
Meanwhile, journalists noticed a prototype of the updated Lexus LS on hydrogen fuel cells. The debut of the novelty should not be expected before 2020.
