Canadians presented an armored version of the crossover BMW X7
February 18, 2021The Canadian company INKAS recently demonstrated an armored version of the BMW X7.
While the outwardly armored vehicle is virtually indistinguishable from the standard model, it features thick bulletproof glass, reinforced suspension, battery protection and more.
As told in the Canadian firm, the armored X7 can withstand shots from rifles with cartridges of 7.62 × 51 mm. In addition, the vehicle is able to protect passengers from explosions, in particular from two hand grenades that were detonated simultaneously.
In addition, it is possible to order various systems such as smoke screen, air filtration and engine compartment fire extinguishing. The car can also be equipped with sirens and emergency lights.
Speaking of the technical equipment of the crossover, it is offered with a 335-horsepower 3.0-liter turbo engine as standard and a 612-horsepower 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine as an option. The units work exclusively with an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system.
Recall that the BMW X7 is a full-size luxury crossover, production of which started in March 2019. Note that this model competes with such cars as Mercedes-Benz GLS-class, Lexus LX and Range Rover. First of all, this car is aimed at American motorists.
In addition, some time ago it was reported that the German automaker BMW is testing a prototype of the new i4 electric car. It should be emphasized that the serial production of the novelty should start in November this year.
