The Italian novelty received a 5.0-liter turbocharged V8 engine manufactured by Ford, with a capacity of 700 hp. (825 Nm). A six-speed “mechanics” is proposed as a transmission.
In early July of this year, the legendary Italian manufacturer of sports cars – the company De Tomaso, hit the headlines thanks to its new model P72. By introducing the new product, the brand announces its return to the global automotive market, in time for its 60th anniversary. Since then, we have not heard anything about the long-awaited supercar.
Just like other Italian carmakers such as the P70, Mangusta and the iconic Pantera, the Ford engine will be under the hood of the new P72. We are talking about a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine, which has been significantly modernized by the masters of Roush tuning studio.
Thanks to the latter, the maximum power is now more than 700 horsepower, and the maximum torque is more than 825 Nm. The latter is transmitted through a six-speed manual gearbox developed by De Tomaso engineers. As representatives of the company separately report, the announced power indicators will be achievable only when using fuel with an octane rating of 91.
The retro-styled De Tomaso P72 will use the same carbon fiber chassis as the Apollo Intensa Emozione (IE) hypercar. In total, only 72 copies of the Italian supercar will be produced. According to insiders, the starting price is 750,000 euros
