Can Polestar 2 compete on equal terms with Tesla Model 3?February 27, 2019
American sedan Tesla Model 3 appeared in 2017. Until now, this electric car has not met a worthy competitor from other manufacturers. Tomorrow morning, the first all-electric model from Polestar, which can compete, will be presented.
The new Polestar 2 can become a full-fledged competitor to the American Tesla Model 3, both in terms of price and technical equipment – it will also be completely electric. That’s exactly what the official representatives of the Swedish brand said.
In fact, these two models are similar in many ways, starting with their names.
Both are represented by the same figure obtained from his number in the production plan of their company. As already mentioned, the Polestar 2 is the second car of the brand, while the Model 3 is the third car from Tesla.
Both cars are sedans of the same size, in addition, they received a glass roof. Polestar 2 should receive a power reserve of 482 km (according to EPA standards). Tesla Model 3 is currently available in two configurations: 424 and 499 km. According to rumors, the novelty from Polestar will be worth between 40,000 and 65,000 dollars, respectively. The electric car from Tesla is offered in the range from 42,900 to 60,900 dollars.
Polestar 2 can get the same 181-strong electric motor as the Polestar 1, all-wheel drive versions can boast about 400 “horses.” The most powerful Tesla Model 3 can offer 450 horsepower.
Now about the appearance. Both cars have similar exteriors. If a Tesla electric car has soft exterior lines and carries some stylistic features characteristic of the S and Model X models, then the external lines of the Polestar 2 will be clearer and carry replicas from Polestar 1.
