Camouflaged prototype hybrid Toyota Mirai 2021 seen on testsJune 12, 2020
Some publications published photos from the tests of the hybrid Toyota Mirai. These are the very first pictures of the updated sedan.
Last October, Toyota revealed a conceptual version of the second generation of its Mirai hybrid sedan. Judging by the car shown, the design of the car that received the hydrogen fuel cells will change a lot – now it looks more like a traditional sedan. At that time, Toyota described in detail some characteristics and features of the new product, but only today, foreign spy photographers first noticed the Toyota Mirai prototype, and it seems that the production version of the model will be damn close to the concept shown earlier.
The Mirai 2021 model year, whose body is covered with black and white camouflage, has a long hood and a flat “nose” that look the same as in the concept.
The test car has a front with a shark nose and a false radiator grille, and its sloping roof ends with a shortened rear. And we would have lied if we had not said that it is also similar to the Lexus LS version with fuel cells – such a performance of the Japanese premium sedan was captured in July last year. The interior of the new Toyota Mirai also looks identical to the concept, including a gold trim on the dashboard.
When Toyota introduced Mirai last year, it also said it plans to increase its range by 30%. The current Mirai, whose engine power is 153 horsepower (114 kilowatts), offers a range of 498.9 km. Therefore, with an increase of 30%, this figure may increase to 643.74 km. Next-generation Mirai will offer a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system display and a 14-speaker JBL audio system.
Not so long ago, our publication wrote that the new Toyota Wildlander crossover is in high demand. After the start of sales, the car lost in popularity only to the RAV4 crossover, which is now a leader in many markets.
