Cadillac unveils powerful track Cadillac Blackwing steering wheelAugust 21, 2020
The American automaker is preparing more powerful versions of the Cadillac CT4-V and CT5-V. The company announced the appearance of “driver” versions of Blackwing last year. Now an intriguing teaser has hit the Web.
The latest teaser for the new Cadillac Blackwing models on Thursday, August 20, is published by foreign portal motor1.com.
The manufacturer has declassified the steering wheel of its new products: we see a spectacular leather trim, intricate stitching, a red racing stripe and carbon fiber decor. Another new attribute is the “V” button. What is most interesting in this teaser image, however, is not the new steering wheel, but what is behind it.
This is a virtual speedometer, which, if you enlarge the picture, shows us the number “200”.
Obviously, in this way, Cadillac is hinting at the top speed of the Cadillac Blackwing – 200 miles per hour.
According to forecasts of foreign experts, the CT4-V Blackwing will hardly be able to overclock to the announced mark, but the larger CT5-V may well surprise with such a speed.
It is known that all “track” cars from the Blackwing family will acquire special settings for the chassis, electronic systems and motor. In terms of powerplant, the CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing will not get the 4.2 twin turbocharged G8. Instead, the new products are tipped with a 3.6-liter V6 from the outgoing ATS-V, whose output can exceed 400 hp. That being said, the power of the CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing can surpass this figure.
The debut of new products is expected at the end of 2020. But sales of “track” Cadillac Blackwing are scheduled for the summer of 2021. There is no information about price lists yet.
Meanwhile, Toyota has published a teaser for the Urban Cruiser crossover ahead of the imminent premiere. The image of the SUV is published by the Indian dealership of the brand. The basis for the novelty was the “state employee” Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
