During a commercial break at the US Super Bowl, the Cadillac brand will air an ad for its world’s first electric vehicle, the Lyriq. It is clear that this will be something special.

The short film begins with Timothy Chalamet, who plays Edgar, the son of Edward Scissorhands. Like his father, he tries to lead a normal life with scissors for hands. As an outstanding mom, Kim, played by Winona Ryder, gives him a new Cadillac Lyriq equipped with Super Cruise driver assistance, which theoretically allows Edgar to drive smoothly.

Like all the other production cars shown at the big presentation of the General Motors concern, the new Cadillac Lyriq is built on the Ultium Drive platform. Apparently, the concern intended to show the capabilities of its new “trolley” precisely by presenting several cars.

The electric car received a new battery made using GM Ultium technology. These batteries contain less lithium and cobalt and are more conveniently shaped to fit in blocks, which allows the manufacturer to lower the vehicle’s center of gravity while leaving enough space in the vehicle interior. The batteries are produced by the Korean company LG Chem. The power reserve of the Cadillac Lyriq is about 500 kilometers.

Of course, the newest electric car from the flagship brand cannot do without interesting features. The first of them was the ability of the car to “recognize” about the approach of the owner – a few meters before the electric car, it will turn on the backlight, headlights and taillights, all this will be accompanied by animation. In addition, the car will turn on the driver’s favorite music, adjust the climate control and the seat.

The new Cadillac will also feature the redesigned 33-inch LED display, which is nearly ubiquitous in EVs these days, and has a customizable user interface.
