Cadillac tests a hearse based on the XT5 crossoverOctober 10, 2020
The journalists published photos from tests of the extended version of the Cadillac XT5 crossover. It is known that the automaker is testing nothing more than a hearse, it is reported that the novelty may well be used as a limousine. The car will be marketed as a 2021 model.
Remember that odd looking long wheelbase Cadillac XT5 we saw last month? We thought that the American company was testing a new XT5 crossover limousine and that it was in the early stages of development.
It turned out that it is, and the novelty can be used as a hearse, as well as a limousine. This was reported to us by the foreign Internet community Cadillac Society.
The XT5 hearse will reportedly be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations.
The 2021 Cadillac XT5 hearse / limousine will also have a VIN starting with “1GE. And the usual versions of this car will have VIN-numbers, which have the designation “1GY” at the beginning. Judging by the false grille and other body accents that can be seen in the published spy photos, it looks like the XT5 hearse / limousine will be available in Luxury or Premium Luxury trim levels.
There is no official announcement of the XT5 hearse / limousine yet at the time of this writing.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that the Chinese Bestune B70 copies the design of the Cadillac CT5. The Chinese Bestune B70 sedan presented today has a very similar appearance to the American Cadillac CT5. This is especially true for vertical headlights. The car was shown at the Beijing Auto Show (China).
