Cadillac Lyriq will get an incredible projection system on the windshieldOctober 20, 2020
Crossover will go on sale in March 2023
We recently wrote that the Carillac Lyriq electric crossover will receive one of the largest dashboard displays in the world. As it turned out, his interior is not limited to this.
British company Envisics will supply an image projection system on the windshield for an electric Cadillac Lyriq, writes Digital Trends. The firm is already known for its collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover, to which it supplies head-up displays for seven vehicles. However, for Cadillac, the British have prepared a new generation of their technology.
Based on Envisics’ website, the image can be displayed on most of the windshield, creating augmented reality. However, what exactly will be displayed on the Lyriq head-up display at General Motors will have to be decided for itself. In theory, it could even be movies or video games.
Interestingly, in the article, Envisics founder Jamison Christmas calls a specific date for the start of sales of the Cadillac Lyriq and this is March 2023. Honestly, we expected the electric crossover to be released no later than 2022. GM itself promised that the coronavirus would not affect the launch speed of the model in the series.
