Cadillac has denied rumors about the rejection of the powerful Blackwing V8 twin-turbo engineApril 4, 2020
It seems that the American brand has not completely decided whether it needs a powerful twin-turbo Blackwing V8 engine or not. In a recent interview, the company’s executive director gives his comments on the situation with this engine.
Another day, another rumor, which this time “circles” around the American brand Cadillac and its powerful twin-turbo V8 Blackwing engine. Earlier it was said that the company decided to abandon the further use of this motor in its models. But is this really so? No one really knows, and this also applies to Cadillac executives.
Recently, foreign journalists had the opportunity to speak with Cadillac CEO Brandon Vivian, who replied that the Blackwing engine could eventually appear under the hood of some brand models.
Mr. Vivian allegedly said that he really wants to see the Blackwing V8 engine in the company’s cars. Perhaps even more important is his remark that Cadillac is exploring the possibilities of wider use of this engine. No exact data was provided on what this means. Note that earlier this engine was under the hood of the high-performance CT6-V sedan.
Recall that in early March there were rumors that Cadillac made a deal with the Italian company Manifatture Automobili Torino (MAT), according to which, all rights to further use the Blackwing V8 motor are transferred to the latter. But Mr. Vivian denied these rumors in his interview. Apparently, the appearance of this powerful engine under the hoods of the “charged” CT5-V sedan or the full-size Escalade SUV can be safely expected in the near future.
