Cadillac CT5 will receive a manual transmissionMarch 11, 2020
On Tuesday, a series of interior photos appeared showing that the prototypes of the future “charged” CT5-V sedan were equipped with a manual gearbox.
The images published by The Drive show a partially masked CT5-V prototype, as well as its interior with a gear shifter. While the gear lever and its cover are partially covered with plastic, it is obvious that the lever is not the same as that seen on Cadillac automatic transmission models.
Note that this is not the first model of the American brand with manual transmission. Rumors that the CT4-V and CT5-V models not yet presented can be equipped (at least optionally) with a manual gearbox, were announced back in late 2019. This, in addition to significantly higher power and revised suspensions, sharply distinguishes them from the base CT4-V and CT5-V, which are designed to compete with the analogues of the Audi “S” line of cars.
“The ultra-productive options for our Cadillac CT5-V and CT4-V are still under development. We will have more information to share over the next few weeks. The “charged” CT5-V and CT4-V will debut later this year. Until then, I can only confirm that these cars will follow the basic principles of the V-Series, ”the company said.
