BYD Song Max electric minivan goes on saleOctober 27, 2019
The debut of a car with an internal combustion engine and a hybrid installation took place two years ago. A fully electric version is now entering the Chinese market.
Chinese automaker BYD launches electric version of Song Max minivan. The design of the car is made in the classic spirit of the brand – it was developed by Wolfgang Egger, who previously worked at Audi and Alfa Romeo. The exterior of the car is practically no different from the already sold minivans, adjusted for the presence of an electric power plant. The manufacturer added new original 18-inch wheels and an EV nameplate indicating the electric version. The length of the novelty is 4 680 mm, width – 1 810 mm. The distance between the axles of the car is 2,780 mm. Inside the car are three rows of seats with a landing formula of 2 + 3 + 2.
In the central part, there is a large touch panel of the infotainment complex with a screen diagonal of 12.8 inches. At the same time, it was decided to keep the analog dashboard.
Buyers will be offered a choice of two trim levels, which will differ in finish and number of options. The new Song Max EV will be driven by an electric motor with a return of 163 hp. The battery capacity is 59 kW • h, which provides a range of 400 km without recharging. The manufacturer took care of the quick charge function – in 15 minutes you can provide a range of 100 km. Up to 50 km / h the car accelerates in 4.5 seconds. The price of the basic version of the car will be 25,400 US dollars.
