A group of green activists Rocks in the Gearbox is going to organize actions against the Frankfurt Motor Show, which will open in mid-September

A group of green activists from the organization Rocks in the Gearbox (“Stones in the gearbox”) broke about 40 luxury cars of the brands Jaguar, Land Rover and Aston Martin, which were prepared for the Frankfurt Motor Show. It is reported by Reuters.

The incident occurred in the parking lot of a dealership in Wiesbaden. The cars were broken glass, as well as damaged body elements. According to police, the criminals used hammers, crowbars and other metal objects. Subsequently, the vandals issued a manifesto in which they explained their motivation.

“In two weeks, the Frankfurt Motor Show starts, a show that promotes an outdated and climate-killing transport system. We are going to expose this event. In fact, this is the pursuit of profit through the exploitation of the poor and future generations, ”the Rocks in the Gearbox said.

Following this announcement, several environmental groups announced their intention to join the protests scheduled for September 14th. In turn, the organizers of the show said that they would strengthen security measures.
