Buick introduced its first electric car: the Velite 6 station wagonApril 26, 2019
As before, the brand focuses on the Chinese market, in which it has the greatest demand. Therefore, it is not surprising that the first innovative innovation appeared precisely on the local market.
The first all-electric car from Buick is the future Chinese station wagon Velite 6. And in 2018, a concept with the same name was introduced, but it was then supposed to produce a hybrid car. Whether the model will be shipped to other countries is still unknown. Perhaps the company will have enough of the local market, because in 2018 207,000 new Buick were sold in the United States, in the Celestial Empire 1,570,000 copies were sold.
The Buick Velite 6 is a stylish station wagon with a compartment body. The car has an average length for a class of 4,650 mm. The model itself is based on a revised platform from Chevrolet Laceti. An electric motor with power up to 115 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque will be used under the hood. A 35 kW * hour battery will be installed as the power source.
According to preliminary information, a full battery charge will be enough for 300 km of travel along the NEDC cycle (in real life, about 150-200 km). The maximum speed will be limited to 150 km / h.
Meanwhile, Buick continues to develop a line of crossovers and is preparing a new product. The network has updated information about the new Buick crossover for the Middle Kingdom market. The first photos and latest information are already available.
