The company Buick brings to the Chinese market a new four-door sedan Excelle entry level. While the sedan is only available with one motor.
The Buick Excelle model debuted in China in 2003. Under this name in the Middle Kingdom released cheated Chevrolet Lacetti – sedan, hatchback and station wagon. Production of the five-door hatch turned in 2009, but in 2015 there was another – already more expensive – sedan, with the prefix GT, built on the same chassis with an independent rear suspension, but with the original body. A year later, the normal Excelle was dismissed. And now he’s back – sales of a new generation model will start in China today, June 22nd.
Standard Buick Excelle is built on GM’s new global platform, details of which were not disclosed in the concern. In its dimensions, the sedan is close to Hyundai Verna – under that name in China they sell a model that we know as Solaris. The length of the new Excelle is 4 468 mm, width – 1,765 mm, height – 1,469 mm, wheelbase – 2,611 mm. For comparison, the dimensions of Verna: 4 380/1 728/1 460 mm, the distance between the axes is 2,600 mm. The minimum volume of the trunk of Buick is 491 liters, in the sedan Hyundai this figure is 485 liters.
While the new Excelle is offered only with one motor – gasoline atmospheric 1.3 Ecotec with a power of 107 hp. (133 Nm), which works in conjunction with a five-speed manual or variator (the first time for Buick). Later, the sedan should have a liter turbo with a payback of 116 hp.
In the base version of the four-door sedan there is a hatch with an electric drive, six airbags, ESC, parking sensors, air conditioning. In the top version there are LED DRLs, armchairs “suede” finishing, keyless entry system and engine start button, multimedia system with touchscreen, rear view camera.
The price of the basic version with manual transmission is 83,900 yuan. Sedan Hyundai Verna in the initial configuration is cheaper – 72,800 yuan for a car with a 100-horsepower engine 1.4 and 6-speed manual transmission. The top Buick Excelle with CVT will cost 99,900 yuan, while Verna with almost similar equipment costs 105,800 yuan. True, Hyundai Verna for this money is equipped with a motor 1.6 (123 hp) and 6-speed automatic transmission.
Outside of China, the new Buick Excelle probably will not get out.
