Buick cuts trim levels for 2021 Encore crossoverAugust 27, 2020
The American brand has decided to cut trim levels for its 2021 Buick Encore compact crossover. Now buyers will be offered only two complete sets of the model, instead of four.
The number of available trim levels for the American crossover Buick Encore will be reduced for the 2021 model year. According to data obtained from the foreign car service CarsDirect, Encore can be bought not in four, but only in two trim levels.
The automaker has ditched further sales of the Sport Touring and Essence versions.
Thus, Base is the base, and Preferred is the most expensive. The good news is that prices for these versions of the model will remain unchanged from last year. The Buick Encore crossover in the Base version will cost at least $ 24,195, and the all-wheel drive Preferred version will receive a starting price of $ 26,215
While this will be fine for those buying a Buick on a budget, those looking for the luxurious features that were available in the now-unavailable crossover trims will have to move on to another closely related model, the Encore GX.
It should be noted that the Encore GX is very different from the regular Encore, as the former is a newer and larger model from the American automaker, which is designed using the company’s latest styling. The Encore GX crossover debuted in China last year, while the updated standard Encore will only be available for the People’s Republic, and the legacy version of the model will remain in the United States.
But the biggest advantage to the older Encore is the price. The Encore GX ranges from $ 25,195 to $ 31,595. In terms of powertrains, the Encore and Encore GX are very different from each other. The standard Encore comes with a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that develops 138 horsepower (201 Nm). The 2021 Encore GX is available in two power ratings from 137 to 155 hp.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that a version of the 2021 Buick Regal coupe was presented. The artist tried to imagine what the Buick Regal sports coupe might look like in the 2021 model year. At the moment there is no information about the company’s plans to present a modern version of the model.
