Bugatti unveils exclusive Chiron Super SportJune 9, 2021
The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is a new rendition of the hypercar that the automaker unveiled a couple of minutes ago. The car can reach the maximum possible speed of 439.26 km / h. This novelty is even more exclusive than the previously presented Super Sport 300+.
490.484 km / h is the impressive speed achieved by Bugatti tester Andy Wallace in 2019 driving the Chiron Super Sport 300+. A production version of the hypercar, limited to 30 pieces, followed shortly to mark the occasion, and the French brand is now unveiling a new version of its long-tail W16 hypercar. Meet the Super Sport, which will be even rarer as production will be limited to just nine examples.
While the Super Sport 300+ was created after a record run on the Volkswagen Group Ehra-Lessien test track in Germany, the new Super Sport has a different story.
It also gets a different body, “stretched” 25 centimeters compared to the standard Chiron for optimal airflow at high speeds. The stacked twin exhausts deliver a deeper and richer sound thanks to the 8.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that develops a whopping 1,577 horsepower and 1,600 Nm of torque.
Compared to the Super Sport 300+, the new Chiron Special Edition features redesigned five-Y-spoke aluminum wheels with an optional diamond-cut finish. Alternatively, customers can order the magnesium wheels that were originally on the Pur Sport version to further reduce the over 23kg weight over the regular Chiron.
The new wheels are wrapped in the only tires available on the market that can withstand speeds of up to 500 km / h. This is a bespoke Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tire that is x-rayed to make sure it doesn’t even have the smallest irregularities. The tires have reinforced belts to withstand enormous loads and have been tested on the same test bench originally conceived for the Space Shuttle.
Not so long ago, our publication wrote that the Bugatti brand has released a new smartwatch with a circulation of 100 pieces. Bugatti has partnered with Austrian smartwatch manufacturer VIITA to make this accessory for exquisite hypercar buyers.
