Bugatti refused to produce custom-made hypercarsAugust 30, 2019
Bugatti does not intend to produce piece hypercars designed according to individual orders of individual customers. This publication Autocar said the head of the department of exclusive projects of the French brand Pierre Rommelfanger.
The top manager noted that meetings with the most important customers are of great importance, as they provide food for inspiration and reflection on future cars. At the same time, he emphasized that the companies themselves should decide what exactly they will develop in the future, and not vice versa.
Bugatti noted that it is not a problem for the company to create piece cars that are sent to private collections. Such customers are ready to buy hypercars even without a test drive, realizing that they will receive their car in at least two years.
For example, the release of the Divo hypercar, the circulation of which was limited to 40 copies, will begin only next year, and the unique La Voiture Noire coupe worth 11 million euros will reach the client no earlier than 2021.
The latest Bugatti was the Centodieci hypercar, released in honor of the 1992 EB110. It was equipped with an eight-liter W16 engine with four turbines, developing 1600 horsepower. The hypercar is able to accelerate from standstill to the first 100 kph in 2.4 seconds, and its maximum speed was 380 km per hour. A total of 10 such vehicles will be produced, each of which will cost 8 million euros. They will reach customers only in 2022.
