Bugatti has introduced a new mysterious hypercarOctober 21, 2020
Following the premiere of the new Chiron Pur Sport race earlier this year, Bugatti is unveiling a mysterious new hypercar. At this stage, it is a dark teasenoer image illuminated by four thin stripes of the car’s taillights, which form an X-shape with the accompanying slogan “What if …?”
Judging by the flamboyant rear end design, the mysterious hypercar doesn’t look like a Chiron, unlike other recent models like the Divo and Centodieci. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long to find out what Bugatti is actually preparing, as the automaker promises that the car will have a digital world premiere “soon”.
If rumors are to be believed, Bugatti is gearing up for a new all-electric racing hypercar that “will serve as a technological demonstration of the future.” This will make the enigmatic Bugatti the first electric hypercar. In addition, it was recently revealed that the Volkswagen Group plans to sell the Bugatti to Rimac, which will allow the Croatian company to supply a battery for the new Bugatti track car.
In terms of design, it can be assumed that this is a production version of the Bugatti Vision Le Mans Concept, created by Max Lask, who joined Bugatti as an exterior designer after completing an internship with the company last year.
The Vision Le Mans concept, conceived as a participant in the 2050 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race, combines modern Bugatti design elements such as a horseshoe grille and two-tone paintwork with extreme aerodynamic elements that optimize airflow and contain car on the track.
Bugatti’s enigmatic track car is expected to be unveiled this month. This would be a good moment as Bugatti will want to be back in the spotlight after the SSC Tuatara hit 533 km / h, stealing the crown from the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ as the fastest production car in the world.
