Bugatti Chiron will not be the fastest in the world and will not receive a folding roofDecember 8, 2018
Bugatti CEO Stephen Winkelmann has officially announced that he is not going to create the fastest version of Chiron, for it is not important. Also, do not expect a version of the Vitesse without a roof.
When in 2016, the Bugatti Chiron was officially introduced with its incredible W16 turbo engine with four turbines (capable of developing up to 1,479 horsepower), many have assumed the appearance of a new speed record holder. However, the model is still available with an electronic speed limiter of 420 km. However, the speed record is now listed for the Koenigsegg Agera RS with a mark of 447 km / h.
Despite the fact that for two years now there were rumors about the imminent release of a version without a speed limiter, which could potentially set a new speed record among production cars. And now, two years after the loud debut of the car, it seems that Chiron no longer has any prospects. In a recent interview with Motor Trend, Bugatti CEO Stefan Winkelmann said there will be no version without speed limit.
“For me, top speed isn’t on the agenda,” he said. “For me, performance has many aspects, and Chiron, besides being a hypercar, is a car spanning many more segments than other super sports cars.”
Unfortunately, it is not yet known why it was in Bugatti that they decided to abandon leadership at maximum speed. In addition, the interview covered the theme of modifying the open-top Vitesse, which is also not planned for release.
