Bugatti Chiron caused a massive accident while trying to overtake a Porsche 911August 14, 2020
As a result of the incident, one person required hospitalization, and four cars will need to be repaired at once.
In the Swiss Alps, at the Saint Gotthard Pass, there was a serious traffic accident involving four vehicles. Among the participants in the accident are the hypercar Bugatti Chiron and the supercar Porsche 911. Pictures and a video from the scene appeared in one of the accounts of the social network Facebook. An unsuccessful overtaking attempt was the cause of the accident.
According to the basic version, the Bugatti Chiron followed the Porsche 911 and decided to overtake. However, the driver of the Porsche supercar also decided to overtake, causing the two cars to collide. The cars were thrown into the oncoming lane, where they collided with a camper and a Mercedes-Benz C-Class station wagon.
As a result of the accident, hospitalization was required only for the Mercedes driver. It is obvious that drivers and passengers were saved by a good degree of protection of their cars, since outwardly the damage looks very serious.
The Porsche 911 received the greatest mechanical damage, its front part was almost completely destroyed – it will be extremely difficult to restore the car.
The Bugatti Chiron has much less serious damage – the front bumper and partially the hood are dented. Mercedes-Benz has a damaged side part from a collision with a protective sidewall.
Earlier it became known about Bugatti’s plans to create cars for children. We are talking about the legendary Type 35 model, which was produced in the 20s of the last century. The cars will receive electric motors, and the circulation will be 500 copies.
