Bugatti built the driver Chiron with the world’s first carbon wipersMarch 6, 2018
The company Bugatti presented at the Geneva Motor Show a new modification of the hypercar Chiron – Sport. The car is a more driver version of the model with a modified suspension and carbon fiber wipers.
The design of the Bugatti Chiron Sport uses more elements of carbon fiber, including the anti-roll bar and the protective cover of the intercooler. Wiper blades with carbon plastic leashes and aluminum tips are 1.4 kg lighter than conventional ones. It is installed on a production machine for the first time in the world.
Also, the hypercar is equipped with lightweight wheel disks, a different rear window and an exhaust deflector. As a result, the weight of the car is 18 kilograms less than the base Chiron – 1977 kilograms.
The standard equipment of the Chiron Sport includes the package Dynamic Handling Package with a new algorithm of adaptive shock absorbers, which are 10 percent stiffer than standard ones, and steering. In addition, the hypercar has received a modified rear differential and a dynamic traction distribution system between the wheels.
The changes made allowed the car to improve the time of the usual Chiron on the test track Nardo by five seconds.
The power plant Bugatti Chiron Sport remained unchanged. This eight-liter engine W16 with four turbochargers, the output of which is 1500 horsepower and 1600 Nm of torque. Dynamic characteristics have not changed either. From zero to 100 km/h the hypercar accelerates in 2.4 seconds. The maximum speed is 420 kilometers per hour.
Price Bugatti Chiron Sport – 2.65 million euros (the usual Chiron costs from 2.4 million euros). With a full set of available options, the cost of a hypercar will reach 2.98 million euros.
