Budget SUV Suzuki S-Presso will conquer the world marketJanuary 24, 2020
The Indian division of the brand announced the start of the supply of its compact car to other world markets.
The new Maruti Suzuki S-Presso was introduced in India in the fall of 2019. production of the model was established on site. During the creation of the compact SUV, designers drew inspiration from the Future-S concept car, which was essentially a “raised” hatchback, but it was positioned in the company as a mini-crossover.
Surprisingly, the car immediately gained popularity in the Indian market – for the last 4 months of 2019, it sold a circulation of 35,254 units. In comparison, Renault Kwid, the main competitor to S-Presso, bought just 18,100 units over the same period. But the Maruti Suzuki SUV is more expensive: from 369 thousand rupees, while the French model costs from 283 thousand rupees
And now the model began to be delivered to other countries. So, the Indian assembly cars have already been exported: the SUV will be available in Africa, the Asian region and Latin America – where there is left-hand traffic.
Note that the Suzuki S-Presso is created on the Heartect platform, which underlies all the latest Suzuki models. True, for the cross-hatch they took the simplest version as the basis – in India, it has a semi-independent suspension and drum brakes in the back. The model is set in motion by a 1.0-liter engine with a return of 68 hp. It works in tandem with a 5-speed manual transmission or robotized gearbox. This is how the car will be seen in other markets.
