BST showed an electric bike HyperTEK worth $ 80 thousandNovember 25, 2019
South African company BST (Blackstone Tek) has been specializing in the production of carbon rims since 2002, and now also on other carbon fiber chassis components. The other day, she introduced the HyperTEK electric bike to the whole world.
It is worth noting that the design of the motorcycle is very futuristic and beautiful. The popular designer Pierre Terblanche was engaged in its development, his portfolio also includes the design of Ducati 999, 749, Hypermotard and others.
The BST HyperTEK is powered by a DHX Hawk electric motor delivering 109 horsepower and 120 Nm of torque. Unfortunately, the company did not focus on the power reserve, so the motorcycle will not be able to boast of excellent energy power, however, at full charge, it will be able to travel up to 300 kilometers.
Like all modern electric cycles, the BST HyperTEK received a quick charge system. In half an hour you can charge the battery and move on.
In addition to carbon wheels, the bike received a carbon monocoque frame – this is already a quarter of the cost of a motorcycle. The fork is equipped with glasses, also made of carbon fiber. It is worth noting an interesting “highlight”: the BST HyperTEK lacks a dashboard, the bike will be delivered with the Crosshelmet X1 smart helmet, on the display of which all the necessary information is displayed.
The BST HyperTEK electric bike will be sold at a cost of $ 80 thousand, its sales will begin within 18 months. It will be released in a limited edition, but which one is currently not specified.
