British startup introduced a 1000-horsepower ATVSeptember 17, 2020
A new company called Engler has developed a car that doesn’t fit into any of the existing categories.
The new car, dubbed the FF, is an ATV that rivals a hypercar in its performance. True, the control is carried out using the steering wheel, not the steering wheel.
The Engler FF was first presented as a concept at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show. The serial FF will make its official debut at the Salon Privé Concours d’Elegance, which will be held September 22-26 in Oxfordshire, UK.
FF is the brainchild of Viktor Engler, a Slovakian-born engineer who now lives in the UK. From the age of 10, he dreamed of building his own car. His goal for the FF was a power-to-weight ratio of 1 hp. for every kilogram of weight. He achieved this by reducing the weight of the FF to 1100 kg and increasing the power to 1100 horsepower. Under the hood sits a 5.2-liter V10, which is most likely a modified version of the V10 found in the Audi R8. Both engines have the same displacement and another hint is the FF headlights that were removed from the R8.
The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission – another common feature with the R8. At the same time, it is not specified what type of drive the “car” has. The central structure of the Engler FF is made of custom-made carbon fiber, and the car can accommodate two riders.
The digital instrument cluster is in front of the knobs. Many of the vehicle’s functions can be controlled through the main interface or through the app. Even the suspension height can be adjusted using the app.
Engler noted that the acceleration to 100 km / h for his brainchild is 2.5 seconds. When it comes time to stop, FF relies on some of the world’s largest carbon ceramic discs. They measure 15.75 inches in the front and 15 inches in the back. They are hidden behind 20-inch forged magnesium wheels, each weighing just around 7.7kg.
Pricing for the new Engler FF has yet to be announced.
